Can the Brno Communications Company a.s. To provide the public with a record of traffic cameras as evidence?

The City Cinemas Brno is the administrator of the recordings from the CCTV cameras. It is authorized to provide these records (archived for 14 days) to law enforcement agencies, police and administrative authorities, or third parties with a demonstrable legal interest (eg, an insurance company). It follows from the above that you must turn to MP Brno with the request to issue a record to the Police of the Czech Republic.

1. A vehicle towed as a potential obstacle to road traffic pursuant to Section 45 (4) of Act No. 361/2000 Sb.

In Brno, this type of towing is always performed under the instructions of  the Brno City Police or the Police of the Czech Republic (e.g. as a possible obstacle to road traffic, deposit, etc.). Information about towing can be provided on line 158 or on the website of Brněnské komunikace a.s. here. Vehicles are towed to  Porážka 2 street  map including public transport connections  (with the exception of the Police of the Czech Republic in case of suspicion of a crime. In such a case, the vehicle is taken to the storage lot of the Police of the Czech Republic at Pražákova 54). To claim the vehicle, the owner (driver) shall present the identity card, driving license, vehicle registration certificate ("small” certificate of roadworthiness), or a purchase contract and the vehicle keys. Unless the police instruct otherwise, the vehicle can be released. 2. A vehicle towed due to public order (neighbourhood street cleaning), road safety and continuous road traffic and construction works or maintenance - or due to other emergencies - pursuant to Section 19a (1) of Act No. 13/1997 Sb. on Roads

Vehicles towing pursuant to the above Act is carried out by Brněnské komunikace a.s. for the Statutory City of Brno on the basis of a Contract of Mandate No. 6/2011, pursuant to Section 19a (1) of Act No. 13/1997 Sb., on Roads, as amended.  

Based on a resolution adopted by the Council of the City of Brno No. R8/105 held on 27th February 2019 and a No. R9/064 adopted dne 13th December 2023, the following steps are taken:

A vehicle that the driver does not remove in time from the street to be cleaned will be 

  • towed/replaced to another suitable place (to another street, to a transfer or tow-way area), from where it will be returned to the same place from where it was towed/removed.
  • only hooked up to a tow truck and returned to the place right from the tow truck after cleaning.

Based on a resolution adopted by the Council of the City of Brno No. R8/015 held on 27th February 2019, the price of these operations is set as a lump sum of CZK 1,500 (until 12/31/2023), 3,500 (from 1/1/2024). In the event that the driver arrives at the vehicle during  the first stage of the technical operation (until the vehicle touches the loading area of the towing vehicle), the driver will pay CZK 400 (until 12/31/2023), CZK 780 (from 1/1/2024) for the so-called “commenced towing”. Vehicles towed before 2019 as a result of street cleaning are located at the storage lot of the tow service, Zdeněk Černý, at: Drážní 9, 664 52 Brno – Slatina, areál F. K. Holoubek.
